State of the Jazz Address

fact: big al is a great number 2 option. he is NOT dwight howard. he cannot carry the team. he is also the currently the best player we have.

which leads me to
fact: we need a number 1 option. we don't have a number 1 option currently on our roster. nor do we really have a developing number 1 option.

fact: we therefore need to acquire a number 1 option. with ak coming off the books, lots of lottery picks coming up, and tradeable assets, we are in great position to get one.

hayward is stepping up, he was calling out defensive assignments in crunch time last night. i hope we keep him. he can develop into a solid role player.

favors is awesome already, and with some polish, he can be amazing. not a number 1, but awesome. if he can keep his physical prowess and develop some touch (millsap shooting, and some big al post moves) he will be a pivotal person to build with.

my keep list: big al, favors, hayward, millsap

my i like, but tradeable/maxed potential list: ak, harris, watson, elson, miles, fez

my get them out of here list: bell, evans, okur, price

i love price's attitude, and he was acceptable behind d-will, but harris is no d-will. miles can be productive in the right scenario, but he is edging towards me wanting him gone. the only way we should keep ak is if he comes cheap. i kind of want to see what harris can do when he knows the system and is healthy.

anyone else regretting that we have corbin in a long term contract as opposed to like a 2 season (this being the first) deal?

Highly Recommended

rogan josh

last night, i feasted at a new indian restaurant in orem called kohinoor.  i had the lamb dish rogan josh.  not josh rogan, host of fear factor.  nor is the food scary like in fear factor.  it is delicious, and everyone else that was there was similarly enthusiastic of their dishes as well.  we also tried the rose lassi, which is a rose flavored yogurt drink.  imagine how a rose smells, now make it sweet and yogurty, and that is about how it tastes.  i thought this rose lassi was better than the rose lassi i've had at the bombay house, my previous favorite indian restaurant in utah valley.  they are both pretty awesome, but i love the fact that kohinoor is right next to where i live.  anyone looking to experience legit indian cuisine, go try out kohinoor.  you won't regret it.  even my super picky friends (andy and paige, good job) enjoyed it.  and special thanks go to my roommates, who paid for it for my birthday.  much love to you honkies :).  it may be because i'm really hungry right now, but i can almost smell and taste it again.  gotta get back there.

A Reason to like McDonald's

the new fruit and maple oatmeal at mcdonald's is delicious.  with fresh and dried fruits mixed into a brown sugar and maple flavored oatmeal, it really is awesome.  tasty, healthy, inexpensive, and just the right size, i really can't think of anything else as good at mcdonald's.  the only thing i ever have actually gone out of my way to get at mcdonald's before this was the sausage egg biscuit w/hashbrown and oj.  now, burger king and carl's junior have them too.  so it is a timely thing that mcdonald's brought out something else that i can crave.  i've been to mcdonald's 4 or 5 times this last couple of weeks, especially to get this stuff.  go, eat it.  and sell your delicious soul to the evil empire.

(De)Constructing Yugoslavia

this is the first time that i've had a class blog.  for my integrated studies core class, constructing and deconstructing yugoslavia, we've been asked to contribute to the class blog.  here's the link:
i've already got a couple of ideas/assignments to contribute.  essentially, i contributed to class, and he said to share the topics online as well.  which was kinda cool, cuz he didn't say that to everything that was share in class.  so pretty much, i rule.
there's already some material on the blog, including a link to another blog where they talk about a movie that used the yugo car exclusively.  this is a yugo:

it's safe to say, you should at least go check it out, and look forward to my awesome additions to the blog.

All is full of love

as we begin this new year, remember the wise words of the crazy icelander, bjork.  all is full of love.

you'll be given love
you'll be taken care of
you'll be given love
you have to trust it

maybe not from the sources
you have poured yours
maybe not from the directions
you are staring at

trust your head around
it's all around you
all is full of love
all around you

all is full of love
you just aint receiving
all is full of love
your phone is off the hook
all is full of love
your doors are all shut
all is full of love!

all is full of love
all is full of love
all is full of love
all is full of love
all is full of love

I wear my sunglasses at night

k, so i don't even have sunglasses to wear at night.  i'm kinda bummed, cuz i just broke my favorite pair of sunglasses, which were my last remaining pair.  at the beginning of this year, i had three.  i lent one pair to a friend, who moved to arkansas.  i had bought those a couple years ago on a whim, i think they actually might be girl's.  another pair was squished at some point during my ragnar relay race, which is what happens when you pack 7 people in a van for 48 hours.
taken just the day before their demise

that pair was a gift from my sister, she picked them up in vegas for cheap.  then, yesterday i sat on my vonzipper hitch hikers.
waa waa

they were my oldest, and most expensive pair.  i bought them about 5 years ago, for about 80 bones.  80 bones!  now, as far as designer shades go, that may not be terribly expensive.  for me, i almost never pay full price for anything.  so i had been taking care of these babies very well, and they were still awesome.  my dear von zippers, may you rest in peace.

also, this means that sunglasses are on my christmas list :)

Kid History

last night, my friends and i watched a couple of awesome youtube videos.  the first was one that was already beloved to us, but they just came out with a second episode to it.  the first one caused many laughs, but the second one made us laugh so hard we had to play it again because we missed half of it the first time.  i was drooled on because someone was laughing so hard.  six grown people were rolling around on couches, love sacs, and the floor.  so i thought i'd do my part to spread the word.  without further ado, here is kid history, episodes one and two:

Kid History: Episode One

Kid History: Episode Two

i only linked these instead of embedding them, because you should really watch these full screen.
